Hello, I'm Chiara
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Firenze, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many relocation stories, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much more significant.
The first few months were demanding — new systems, new habits, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Gentle Field Way
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Italy.
What This Site Covers (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical know-how gained from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site is not:
- An official tourism body resource
- Promoted-review platform
- A generic travel diary
Moving Forward
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Firenze or elsewhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Chiara
